Desalination
Our wind-diesel system is designed to be extended with fresh water production by desalination of sea water. The distillers operate by consuming all the excess heat and surplus wind power.
When fresh water production is the primary function the system is supplemented with a low-energy fresh water system which uses only electricity. Fresh water production capacity is in the order of 7 to 120 m3 per day at low performance and 50 to 1,000 m3 per day at high performance.
Standard distillers are used and these are reliable and easy to maintain.
Further information about desalination. See the file Desalination - reverse osmosis under Descriptions of wind-diesel systems. |
