Wind farm - Servicing
A permanent DT&SU is able to service a wind farm during the time that the farm is not yet connected to the grid or when an operational wind farm experiences a grid failure.
A permanent DT&SU provides reactive power, heat and master frequency in a 'hybrid operation' with ramped-down wind turbines of a wind farm. This electrifies the total wind farm grid and the service power prevents damage to the disconnected wind turbines while keeping diesel fuel consumption low.
The DT&SU is a straightforward and robust piece of equipment that is also suitable to serve offshore wind farms. The low fuel consumption brings logistical advantages at sea.

Before the grid is available, a mobile DT&SU is able to use its dumpload capacity to test and commission wind turbines of a wind farm one at a time. It can absorb 100% of turbine power or up to 1 MW in the 'Mini' edition. Optionally the DT&SU unit provides (hybrid) service power to the wind farm grid during the construction period.
Gaining control over commissioning of the wind turbines means that transferring ownership of a project can be stipulated more clearly and final payments can be advanced. The advantage to a client is that a tested wind farm can start production directly when the grid becomes available.
The Danvest approach is based on Danvest wind-diesel technology proven since 1996
